Facilities & Directions

Athletics & Wellness Center

The newest facility on the Loras College campus is the state of the art Athletics & Wellness Center located along Cox Street in the middle of campus. More commonly known as the AWC, this multi-level center covers 8,000+ square feet with a complete workout center and weight room for students, faculty/staff and members. The stadium holds over 1,700 spectators for a variety of events. The Loras College volleyball and basketball teams host competitions and practices on the main floor during the fall and winter seasons. The weight room is also commonly used for strength and conditioning purposes for both student-athletes and the greater Loras community.

The facility also contains a concessions area and houses the offices of all coaches who compete in the building, the Associate and Director of Athletics, the Strength and Conditioning coach and the Athletic Training staff. The Loras College Varsity Athletics Hall of Fame area is located along the east wall of the upper concourse.

The Locker Room is located on the first floor of the AWC. It includes individual stalls and shower and restroom facilities.

The Weight Room - also part of the new AWC - is a multi-level space with free weights, machine weights, and a full cardio room with a half dozen flat screen television monitors as well.

Graber Sports Center

The physical education and athletic facilities at Loras College are equal to those of any comparable college and superior to most other institutions.  They include the $3 million Graber Center dedicated in the spring of 1982, the lighted tennis courts constructed in the fall of 1981, the San Jose Pool and handball courts erected through the munificence of the Wahlert family in 1968, the Rock Bowl stadium built in 1940 and the legendary Loras Fieldhouse which dates to 1924.  In addition three intramural fields, the softball field and a quarter-mile track in the Rock Bowl.
